WHO WE ARE
The Farmhouse is a rural coffee, bakery and ice cream shop; coupled with boutique accommodation located on our 140 acre farm, 5 minutes from Clevedon Village and 35 minutes south of Auckland City.
It all started in early 2019 with the collaboration between Anna Charlton and Honey Bro’s, a locally owned and operated beekeeping business. Anna wanted to create a place where she could follow her passion for sustainably sourced, delicious whole food and love for good coffee, and she was able to do just that on the Honey Bro’s farm.
Anna completely renovated the old, derelict farmhouse and was the brains behind the operation coming to life. The Farmhouse opened in December 2019, with the vision to work consciously to minimise waste, reduce our carbon footprint and care for the land, bees and our environment.
"Growing, making and indulging in fresh whole foods is something that has always been a big part of me. It’s so rewarding to see the time and effort that goes into growing your own plants and turning them into a beautiful meal. The Farmhouse has been an evolving creation, allowing myself and others to learn along the way...I couldn’t be closer to job of my dreams”
- Anna, Founder and Director
We are lucky enough to work with a fantastic team of local suppliers who provide us with top quality products.
We proudly serve the delicious organic Kokako Coffee, roasted locally in Mount Eden, Auckland. Kokako offer a wealth of knowledge about their coffee beans - all the way from the farm to the cup, so we know each bean has been sustainably and ethically, grown and sourced.
Somewhere along the way we became too busy and convenience sucked the goodness out of our brew. Determined to redeem NZ’s cuppa, Webster’s blends use quality organic ingredients for loose leaf teas that look, smell, and taste ridiculously good. Webster's products are free of synthetic and harmful chemicals, fertilisers and pesticides meaning their certified organic teas are produced sustainably.
Not only do we overlook the Honey Bros stunning farm, we also proudly use their high grade Manuka Honey in many of our recipes and sell their multi-floral blend of Raw Honeycomb in our cafe. We also host a couple of their hives next to our vege garden!
Deciding to use this Auckland-based company as our bread supplier was a no brainer - they use no additives or preservatives, preferring to use time and effort to create great tasting bread that is also good for you. These loaves are delivered twice weekly so you can enjoy the best sourdough fresh at home.
The team at Karma Cola have searched far and wide for the most delicious organic ingredients to make their drinks. They believe what you drink should not only taste good, it should be good for the land, good for the people who grow the ingredients and as good for you as a fizzy drink can be.
These guys are as local as you can get - their family-run buffalo farm is just down the road from us! Their award-winning fresh buffalo mozzarella, bocconcini, ricotta, and more, are made with farm fresh milk from their herd of Riverine water buffalo which graze freely on lush open pasture in Clevedon.
